Delaware GOP forgets message of 2010 05/05/2012
The Executive Council of the Delaware Republicans dealt the Tea Party and Conservatives a slap in the face last weekend at the State GOP Convention. Chairman Sigler must of expected disapproval of the committee's choice for delegates to the National Convention. He was prepared with a visual presentation to back up the explanation of the process to choose these delegates. This was presented to the group prior to the announcement that the list of delegates included Mike Castle and Tom Ross. Two people the Tea Party and the conservatives worked hard to remove from their positions of power. It also contained the name of Laird Stabler who is a lobbyist who contributes to liberal democrat campaigns. I couldn't help noticing the similarities with the liberals in the Republicans acting to rewarding failure. Speakers at the convention called for unity while they treated Mike Castle as if they had forgotten that he was fired by the people almost 2 years ago. The Delaware Republican leadership might want to consider looking at the Republican turnout: 32% turned out to vote in the primary that ousted Mike Castle, and 28% voted in the 2008 Presidential primary, but only 16% voted in the primary earlier this month. Could this decrease be accredited to the establishment and media telling the voters that their vote does not count? How do you expect to keep people engaged if you ignore their voices? The Tea Party is truly made up of citizens who had not been politically active. These citizens have dedicated their time to knock on doors, support candidates that share their views and have rallied their neighbors into the fight for our Country. We have spent the last 3 years learning how to get average citizen to engage in the political process, recruiting new members, and defending the Constitution. We continue to fight for fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets. The Delaware Republicans court the help of the Tea Party but make it impossible for us to do so. This committee has chosen to follow the liberals in the insane act of repeating failing actions and expecting a different outcome. Thomas Jefferson said: “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent”. 2 Comments She does not speak for the Delaware Tea Party. 31 people were shot in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx in 48 hours over this labor day weekend. The shootings have become part of the celebration called J'ouvert the pre-dawn festivities before the West Indian Day parade. Most of the shootings this year was off the parade route, occurred between 1am and 5am, and directed at house parties. One New Yorker states "These people come with guns and shoot at anyone. They don't care if there are children around." Mayor Bloomberg is demanding action from Washington on gun control. "We cannot tolerate it," Bloomberg said . "There are just too many guns on the streets and we have to do something about it." New York has the toughest gun laws in the country, but Bloomberg said the city alone cannot stop the onslaught of shootings. "We need the federal government to step up," he said. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2011/09/05/2011-09-05_bloody_weekend_24_shot_in_24_hours_prompting_mayor_bloomberg_to_call_for_tougher.html#ixzz1X5nhsaNw Does the Mayor of New York really think gun control would of prevented the violence? Nowhere did I find an article about the victims returning fire or that the attackers were not from the city. Just days before the violence, the Mayor heard and ignored another point of view in the form of an open letter. Rabbi Dovid Bendory expressed his concerns and frustrations. “In your own New York City, hand guns are illegal for all practical purposes, yet the murderers, drug dealers, gangs, and other criminal predators in your City manage to acquire them nonetheless. How do you expect civilians to defend themselves against those who would harm them if we cannot use the most practical tool at our disposal — the handgun? You tell us to “Dial 911”? And then wait ten minutes or more for police rescue?” Read his full letter at: http://prayerandaction.com/?p=9321 When will our politicians learn that gun control only prevents law-abiding citizens from owning guns. Meanwhile Representative Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Gressley continue to determine what the Justice Department and the White House knew about Fast and Furious. http://articles.latimes.com/2011/sep/02/nation/la-na-atf-guns-20110902 Let's Talk 09/04/2011
